New Liechtenstein single on the way!!

Hooray! Rejoice! There's a new Liechtenstein 7" on the way! It'll be out on Fraction Discs in May and the new single is streaming on their MySpace right now. It's called "Apathy" and it's amazing. As one would expect the harmonies are gorgeous and the vocal melody is really, really infectious. Perhaps more so than "Cravings" – and that's saying quite a lot cause I can't even remember how long I hummed that song last year. Oh, and it's also a bit sadder and slow-going than anything else I've heard by them as of yet, too, which I think suites them real well, especially when the overlapping vocal outro comes in... aw man, so so good!

Go listen to "Apathy"! Like, seriously.

P.S. For anyone in germany, the girls will be playing a show in Dresden, saturday, May 17th!

Moscow Olympics "Still" 7" out now!

I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas! I had a great one and got to be home all week with my family, which was nice. I'm bummed that it's over because I love Christmas and everything that comes with it, but I still have some other fun things to look forward to. For instance – Moscow Olympics' first 7" is finally released on Fraction Discs! I just ordered it moments ago, using my precious Christmas money, and I will be marking the days until it arrives! I mentioned them here, before, if you're unfamilair with them, but if you've heard them already, then you're probably on your way to Fraction Discs to order it! The 7" single features the incrediblely incredible track "Still," with "Talk Like This" on the b-side. Oh, and included with the record is a code that allows you to download the songs in MP3 format – hooray!

GET GOING!

Moscow Olympics

Just a quick post real quick before I run off to class, but I just had to mention this! Sweden's Fraction Discs label has just announced they will be releasing the debut 7" from the very excellent Philippine dreampop band Moscow Olympics! Moscow Olympics take the swirling, ringing guitars of late 80s shoegaze and mix it with the sweet melodies of Sarah Records-era indiepop, creating a fantastic dreampop sound that you would swear Bobby Wratten had a hand in. The single will feature the amazing track, "Still" on the a-side and previously unheard track, "Talk Like This" on the b-side. I've never mentioned the band before because I've got no songs to post for you, but I urge you to go over their myspace and listen to the demos they have up. Then I think you'll realize why I'm so excited!

Tillmanns: "Heavy Rotation"

'85 in '07

If there's one band out there right now absolutely nailing that 1980s Factory Records sound it's Göteborg's own Tillmanns. The Tillmanns lie somewhere between The Stockholm Monsters and The Wake, specifically around the Here Comes Everybody era. The duo have just released their first LP, A Careless Lifestyle, on Sweden's consistently flawless Fraction Discs and the first single, "Heavy Rotation," is a repeat-worthy kind of excellent!

[MP3]: Tillmanns :: Heavy Rotation (Real Highly Recommended!)

You can pick A Careless Lifestyle, as well as their previous 7", from Fraction Discs right over here. Might I also suggest Liechtenstein's "Stalking Skills" 7" while you're poking around over there. ;)
